State Mandated Abortion Ultrasound
If the barrage of fundraising letters I am getting is any indication, there are a number of serious issues facing the pro-choice movement these days. Battles are raging in just about every state legislature and every solicitation for money (do they ever write to us to just tell us how things are going?) has a common theme, which is access to abortion services are being restricted.
Whether or not requiring a woman to get an ultrasound before an abortion restricts her access to abortion is a question that I cannot answer at this time. We’ll just have to wait and see. But it is no secret that the number of abortion providers/abortion clinics has decreased over the years. Of course, part of the reason why there are fewer abortion clinics is that the number of abortions has declined and an abortion clinic, like any other business, has to have a certain number of patients to pay the rent, buy supplies, pay staff, etc. If the number of people using the facility decreases, that facility may be forced to close. Indeed, in the ideal world, there would be no abortion facilities, right?

One thing that has always intrigued me when we talk about access to abortion is how our pro-choice friends bemoan the fact that fewer hospitals are performing abortions. Well, I gotta tell you that if I were counseling a woman right now, I would tell her stay as far away as possible from any hospital if she was looking for an abortion. Let me explain.
Abortion is a specialized form of medicine. It’s not like going to your local orthopedic surgeon to get a lipoma removed. In that case, you have your quick first meeting, the doc tells you it should be removed, you make your co-pay and you schedule the outpatient surgery. Two weeks later, the lipoma is gone. Wham bam, thank you ma’am.

Even though the surgery is just as simple as having a lipoma removed, a woman seeking an abortion has a lot more to deal with – as do the staff at the abortion clinic. With variations on the theme, the women receive counseling about the abortion procedure, possible post abortion reactions and they may even delve into other more personal issues if the woman is so inclined. Then they discuss forms of birth control that the woman might use to prevent her from coming back. Of course, the patient might also have to deal with the possibility of anti-abortion picketers outside the facility and the stress that that might add to an already stressful situation. If a woman has received the abortion pill, the staff is on call for the woman through that multi-day process.

So, abortion clinic staff and their doctors are used to dealing with women not just from the physical side but the emotional side. There is even an organization – the National Abortion Federation – that hosts annual meetings where abortion doctors discuss the provision of abortion of abortion services and how to make the experience a more comfortable one for the woman.
Now, think about your last visit to a hospital. Not very warm and fuzzy, wouldn’t you say?
And if you went in there for an abortion – assuming you found a hospital that does them – you would not be entering a comforting environment. You surely would not receive any counseling about the procedure, no discussions about how to avoid an abortion in the future, no advice on birth control. Even worse, you might be working with some staff people who are actually anti-abortion. Yes, there are conscience clauses out there, but you always run the risk of getting a nurse who is pro-life, so you know they are not going to sit there and hold your hand during the procedure. The only advantage to going to a hospital might be that there would be no protestors and you’d be in a big waiting room with others and no one would know why you are there.
But I would prefer to go to a place where there are experienced staff people who have dealt with the abortion issue from all angles – the medial and the emotional – than going into a sterile hospital where you’re basically on your own. .
The average price for an abortion at an abortion clinic is about $350. Believe me, it’s worth it.

An abortion mill is not a ‘clinic’,
a ‘clinic’ is a health care facility that is primarily devoted to the care of outpatients, in an abortion mill, two patients go in and only one comes out.
Simple and clear science… No one can absolutely prove that THE LIFE is not a LIVING HUMAN BEING they can only guess at their own whim and pretend to be God.. , at the cost of an innocent life,

Sorry, Vlad, but if you know anything about feral children, you would understand that human life is developed along a continuum and that a fetus is nowhere near humanity– unless there is someone who will commit to its nurture. I suggest you try nurture someone else’s fetus– let’s see you protect it from maternal smoking, drinking, malnutrition, substance abuse or domestic violence.
Well, you can’t do that, can you?
So, stop pretending that you care FOR the fetus and start caring for real children, the ones who are already born, whose parents never intended to have them and are either unwilling or unable to nurture them well– which is about 30% of the children in the country. Get back to me on that.
I’ll bet you have your fill of 24/7 care for them in four months.
And while you’re at it, you might as well admit you only care ABOUT fetuses.

I can not support your position when I see so many unwanted children suffering daily>Why do you not raise money to help feed and take care of these unwanted or neglected children.If abortion is evil, what about gambling, homosexuality and prostitution. You can not make choices for people. The Church has failed us very very badly. It has raped, molested our little children instead of teaching them to pray. It has murdered so many and still causing the world so many pains and sufffering; every day we see and hear of wars and violence associated with religion. Get down off your pulpit and money earner and adopt a few of the millions of children suffering all over this world, then you would show your Christain spirit. Do not molest and abuse women who want an abortion; show them love and affection, promise them that you will raise the child but do not fire bomb the clinics. Stop molesting and humiliating women. That versus using their energy to save some 8 week fetus that – I”m sorry but – has no idea what is going on….

if u do not want a child do not get pregnant because a child is a blessing from god. there are many women that want a child and they can not get it easly like the one thatr get pregnant fast. those type of women have children fast then the one that cannot have children. so ladies if u get pregnant please have the child because u do not know if u would not get a next child if u abort the first one, it could be the last child u could get for the rest of ur life. so ladies please think before u get pregnant because there are different methods to aviod pregnancy. just think ,,,,, i do not know why ladies have to get pregnant so easy because the know what to do. or unless u get rape is a different story and get pregnant . well there is a different story if u do not want the child and u want to make an abortion.

I’d like it if you would take into consideration that not everyone shares your belief system (a child is a blessing from god). Further, women of the world are not responsible to women who are unable to have children. In other words, barren women can not obligae women with unwanted pregnancies to carry their pregnancies to term so that their nurseries are populated. Women are more than their wombs.

I find it rather disingenuous for you to use the idiom (your failed attempt at humor) “Wham bam, thank you ma’am.” Anyone with a half-ounce of intelligence knows it directly relates “to having sex with a woman and then leave her right after you finish.”
Arguably, “going to your local orthopedic surgeon to get a lipoma (a nonthreatening, soft, rubbery, condensed tumor of fatty tissue, those usually comprised of mature fat cells ) removed”, as I have, is NOTHING like having “sex”!
The topic of which you speak, it is a very serious, emotional and permanent one. You mock and cloud the real issue with your insensitive attempt at applying humor. If you sincerely want to maintain any resemblance of credibility, avoid humor with serious and provocative issues. Humor is best left to the “cartoon pages”

Abortion…………. WHY???????????? There has been alot of wrong things happening in this world. I have nothing against abortion when it comes to this world where we are living in today. I have seen so many kind of child who seek for help, which I know that they to themselves keep on asking themselves why they were brought to this world that no one will take care of them. Look in Africa, United States, Europe, Russia, Asian Countrry, Middle East Country and every part of these world. There are billions and billions of children who are found on the street, waste disposal site or anywhere are starving for food, water, love, attention and everything, they couldn’t have it all cause they were just born and left behind hoping that someone could take care of them or hoping for them to die. If you yourself know that you can not control your doing, then why have a child. Pregnancy do happen at a certain time, sometimes its an accident and sometimes I don’t know, it’s you yourself to think about it can you raise the child or can not, then you will make a decision whether to abort it or not. What ever decision you made, please keep in mind that life is so painful, so don’t have child in this world knowing to yourself that you couldn’t take care of.

And that’s why I continue to insist that the government has no right to tell a woman how to react and act when she finds herself with an unwanted pregnancy!
