Abortion pills, from what I have read appear to be an abortion that is relatively simple in process.
Abortion cost seems to be a little higher.
Surgical Abortions also seem to be safe and cost less early on.
The Abortion Pill RU 486 appears to cost about $100,
Abortion with methotrexate appears to be less expensive abortion.

As a RN I have to correct people who think that the abortion pill is a safe option. Nothing could be further from the truth. Remember, when you use the abortion pill, you are basically having the abortion at home. Serious issues can arise ie hemmorhaging, infection severe pain ect. numerous women have died, which the abortion industry has failed to tell the public. Soooo please, dont use this method.

You can increase your sperm count from the aagevre of 180 million to 500 million and it won’t make a bit of difference in semen ejaculation volume. Sperm only makes up about a drop of the semen you ejaculate, and unless you are trying to make a baby don’t worry about sperm count.Semen volume aagevres about a teaspoon for an adult male, so if you are near that amount, you are fine. Don’t expect cupfuls of semen.

I have worked as a nurse practitionr for 12 years and have met several women who had an elective abortion. Every one of them was very depressed about it. I do not think abotions are good for women.

Well instead of relying on intuition read the peer literature.

Your small sample pales to the thousands of studies including large samples of women.
The vast majority do just fine.
If your anecdote of several deppressed women at 100% after abortion were true,
half the women aged around 33-45 in America would have depression .
America would have 50x more physchiatrists and psychologists,
and there would be no financial crisis as the taxes on the profits of pharmaceutical company profits would be pay for everything.
So check out real research. Don’t educate people by your few examples, if your an NP you should understand the literature better before making such a comment.
I don’t dispute your an NP, I typically hold them in high regard.

Patricia. You are sooo right. As a prolife RN, I have counseled hundreds of women who have had abortions. The story is always the same. “I wish I wouldnt have had my abortion” Depression, thoughts of suicide, alcoholism , thoughts of worthlessness all are very common. My Prayer is that women who think they have to have this procedure, seek out a Crisis Preg center near them and get some good counseling. There is sooo much help available, no one has to abort.

fortunately there is a large body of evidence that is contrary to your anecdotal opinion. The vast majority of women are quite satisfied with their decision to have an Abortion, and desire reproductive rights which are presently under attack by the minority perspective.
Please do a simple review of the literature on Abortion to document the common experience of women. Abortion is a right that they desire. It is the safest procedure performed in America. Only a tiny fraction of women suffer any mental illness after an abortion and it is impossible to differentiate that mental illness from already present illnesses that these women may have. We welcome any objective data to support your anecdotal experience. Thank you for your input.

Ok first of all you need to hold up! Not all women get pregnant but many young teenagers as well. A teenager doesnt have the decision making abilities that a grown woman does. And of course, Patricia’s twelve years as a nurse practitioner cannot compare with what you can tell her to read. I also noticed that your site is filled with much pro-liberal pieces, and attacks conservative persons who only attempt to protect the innocent. When welcoming “objective data”, is that to push aside 12 years of experience and observation of a nurse practitioner? It seems your response is really nothing more than pushing a shameless agenda. In the end, as long as we can justify our “choices”, and we humans are good at justifying anything, then the pro-choicers and those who aid them can earn a good living and sleep at night. That is not experience.
She should have seen thousands in 12 years. She does not have an experience base to call experience. If she had seen at least a few hundred in 12 years, still underrepresenting the ratio of women/women who have had abortions then perhaps one could call that experience to comment on that point.

I get so confused on everyone’s split stances in this country. Why does everyone respect one aspect of life and nature and not the other? Why are we scrambling to save the earth but killing it’s unborn children? Why are we eating organic food to avoid the hormones that create cancer and disease but taking birth control pills which are very unnatural hormones. Why is is obscene to breastfeed your child the way nature intended us to but it’s okay to walk into a into a clinic and remove a fetus from your womb that most women put there by CHOICE by having sex, very unnatural. I follow all of these NATURAL ways of life. I recycle, conserve energy, eat organic, breastfeed, respect animals, carry a child to term and I can’t understand how you can pick and choose nature. Natural is natural. We are made a certain way and we should respect it. Why when a woman is excited about a pregnancy do we call it a baby and when they don’t feel like being pregnant it is a fetus???????????????

Patricia and George, It’s important to remember most people will feel down/depressed/disappointed about needing to make such an important difficult decision in our lives. Usually at point in our lives when we are not feeling supported and secure ourselves or typically I think many of these women and young women would perhaps be able to consider having the child if they were in a ‘better’ situation in their life, (married, 18 or more, with a supportive person, financially sustainable, emotionally capable, not gang-raped, healthy, etc). We cannot begin to imagine the world as it is for others, only ourselves. That is why we protect our rights to make our own choices. Because as we grew up our parents tethered our choices until we showed the capability to make good choices. Please ask yourself why you feel the need to tether the rights of others… and then if that it is your right.
Feeling miserable because you are in a desperate situation, taking action, grieving the situation, then moving on can be freeing.

I can understand your point that there are times when a woman is pregnant and she wishes she weren’t. And your points are good arguments for a woman to decide not to have sex- because it’s not a good time to get pregnant. But once she *IS* pregnant, then there is another human life to consider. Just as all of those reasons you gave would not be justification to kill the baby after she is born, I don’t see how they justify killing the baby *before* she is born. (Even gang-rape would not excuse killing the child after the baby is born.)
Adoption *IS* another option. Then the mother can live without having to raise a child she is not prepared to raise, parents waiting and praying for a baby can raise the baby, and the baby can live her life and make her own choices too. Everybody WINS!!

Before you decide what is life and what is not, you must study embryology. Life does not occur with an explosion and a magic wand. It is continuously present in the form of an egg and a sperm. These entities are alive and anything you do to prevent their survival is abortion.
If nature were left to its own devices, when puberty came about, males and females would have intercourse and the sperm would join the egg and the embryo would develop. As ontogoney recapitulates philogony, the embryo will take many forms until it develops into a baby able to survive in the outside world (viability.)
Anything you do to disrupt this process is abortive by definition.
If you spill the sperm on the ground, wear a condom, use a spermacide, use a diaphram, do a tubal ligation,you are creating a barrier so that the sperm can’t reach the egg. Sperm is required for the egg to survive as the egg is required for the sperm to survive. Therefore you are killing the very entities that are essential for the human being to develop. That is abortive by definition.
With an IUD, you allow the sperm to reach the egg but you alter the uterine lining, effectively poisoning the soil of implantation so that the egg -sperm combination can’t nidate into the unterine wall and survive. That is abortive by definition.
Surgical abortion occurs after allowing the egg-sperm combination to imbed into the uterine wall. Essentially al orf these actions effect the same result, destruction of the egg, sperm or their combination. In fact, selectively trying to inject sperm into the female at a time when you know that the egg can’t accept the sperm is a backhanded stab at abortion. That’s called rhythm.
So is abstinence after you reach puberty.
The marriage contract was truly and attempt to determine when and if one could have children.
Basically, it said, prior to signing a contract of obligation creating an intact family unit, make sure that you do everything possible to prevent the egg and sperm from surviving.
The truth is that random pregnancies do not serve an advanced civilization well. Time and place of birth must have some degree of predictability. If not, there is chaos. Can you imagine, with all the trouble and rebellion that we have in the United States today, what would have happened in the last 45 years if the nation was burdened by 60-70 million unwanted children, most disfunctional, uneducted, hostile and resentful. I don’t even want tothink about it.
Now you may argue tha human life begins at conception. What is conception?
When the sperm physically nears the egg, each carrying their haploid number of chromosomes, is this conception? Or does the sperm have to abut against the egg for this to occur even though it still maintains it’s integrity as does the egg. Or does it have to penetrate the Zona pellucida and enter the cytoplasm of the egg? Or does it have to migrate towrd the nucleus of the egg or does it have to penetrate the nuclear wall? Or does conception occur as the DNA of the sperm begins to line up next to the DNA of the egg. Or is it when half of the DNA is lined up? How about three quarters or all but one of the nucleatides that make up the DNA that makes up your genes and your chromosomes? Or is it only when every single one of them is lined up to create a haploid number of chromosomes which is necessary for futher embryological development? Or is it when the egg-sperm combination makes two cells or four or the morula etc. etc. etc.The point is that there is no POOF!!!!, one second it is nothing and the next second it is a human being. Development of a viable human being is a gradual and continuous process and anyplace that you disrupt the process is abortive by definition. Abstinence, rhythm, barriers etc. all are methods used to disrupt the process of developing human beings and many of these methods are advocated and supported by the so-called anti-abortionists. In summary, at best, the entire anti abortion movement is just self deception of the uneducated and the ignorant. At worst, it is a veiled plan.

Okay then. Why are you arguing your point with me. If you feel that abortions are wrong like I do, then just let me post what I am going to post without you butting up against what I am saying. And, you have no idea if there are people who are viewing this for the first time and may just have their decision changed because of it. Not everyone perhaps, but, maybe one is my hope.

The reason I’m arguing with you, Sarah, is because I believe that what you are saying is wrong, that if a woman sees the ultrasound or looks at the gross dead fetus pictures, she will change her mind. And I do have “an idea” about how all this works because I’ve worked with abortion clinics for many years and I’ve spoken to the women who are there for abortions…

Yes, I support legal abortion. That doesn’t mean that I hope people have them. I wish that every pregnancy were a wanted pregnancy so we can reduce the number of abortions. And I say that because I know abortion is not easy, certainly not as easy as some pro-choice want us to believe. Like I said, I’ve talked to many women who were having abortions and the reactions are all over the board. That’s why if you read some of my blogs, you’ll see that I am pro-choice but….

Abortion is not murder. People that murder in the name of harming peopler who work in offices offering abortion services,, now those people are not only murderers and have been criminally convicted as such, they are also, abortion terrorists, no better than the terrorists that caused 9/11.

Abortion is in fact murder. Did you know that by the middle of the second month of pregnancy that the babies eyes are already developing? And at the third month all the babys internal organs are formed? And the fourth month the eyelids are completely formed and closed over the eyes so that the baby can react to changes in light. Most women including myself could feel the baby moving inside the uterus by this point. Please tell me that is not murder!? Right… theres only something breathing and heart beating inside me and when I haev it ripped out thats not murder. Its A ok to have an abortion its not murder, NOT!!! Get a life.

Cortney, “murder” is a legal term as defined by each state. If abortion were technically “murder” then it would be illegal. However, I do grant you that abortion is a form of killing – and it’s no secret to every woman who has had an abortion. That’s what makes that decision so difficult. Do you care more about the fetus than the woman?
